Job Description



The College Recruiter plays a vital role in promoting Drake State Community and Technical College to prospective students, community partners, and other stakeholders. This position is responsible for engaging with prospective students, collecting and analyzing recruitment data, advising students, and assisting with new student orientation. The College Recruiter will work closely with faculty, staff, and external partners to increase enrollment and support student success. This position reports to the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Services.

 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities




 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The College Recruiter shall perform the duties as specified in conformity with policies established by the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees and the Drake State Community and Technical College Faculty and Staff Handbook.  

 

RECRUITMENT & OUTREACH


  • Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans to attract prospective students

  • Represent the college at high schools, community events, career fairs, and industry expos.

  • Build and maintain relationships with K-12 schools, community organizations, and business partners

  • Conduct campus tours and coordinate recruitment events

  • Assist in the development of marketing materials and social media outreach to enhance student recruitment efforts

 

DATA COLLECTION & ANALYSIS:


  • Collect, analyze, and report recruitment data to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts

  • Track and monitor prospective student engagement and conversion rates.

  • Utilize CRM systems and databases to manage recruitment pipelines and student inquiries

  • Provide regular reports on recruitment trends and student demographics to leadership

 

STUDENT COLLECTION & SUPPORT:


  • Assist prospective students in understanding admission requirements, financial aid options, and academic programs

  • Provide guidance on career pathways, degree and certificate programs, and workforce training opportunities

  • Connect students with academic advisors, faculty, and student support services to facilitate a smooth transition to college

  • Follow up with applicants to ensure completion of enrollment steps

 

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION & RETION EFFORTS:


  • Coordinate and participate in new student orientation sessions

  • Develop materials and presentations to help students acclimate to college life

  • Collaborate with student services to create programs that promote student engagement and retention

  • Act as a liaison between new students and various campus departments to ensure a seamless onboarding experience

 

WORKING CONDITIONS :


  • Office environment with regular off-campus travel

  • Frequent interaction with students, parents, school personnel, and community partners

  • Some evening and weekend work required for recruitment events

 

 



Qualifications




 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :


  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • 1 year experience in student recruitment 

  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to analyze data and develop recruitment strategies based on findings

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and student information systems

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel for recruitment purposes

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience in admissions, academic advising, or related higher education roles

  • Experience in recruiting at the Community College Level

  • Experience with Banner, Degree Works, and CRM Software


  • Knowledge of the programs of study offered at the College
