GENERAL OBJECTIVES

Valley View Hospital is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Total Compensation to lead the development, implementation, and administration of comprehensive compensation and benefits programs. This role is responsible for ensuring our total rewards strategy supports the hospital's mission to deliver exceptional patient care, attract and retain top talent, and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute hospital-wide total compensation strategy, including base pay, incentive programs, and benefits offerings.

  • Lead compensation planning processes including market analysis, salary structure design, merit cycles, and executive/physician compensation.

  • Oversee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, retirement, disability, and life insurance plans.

  • Ensure competitive positioning through regular benchmarking through participation in compensation and benefits surveys, salary planning tools, and local employment market research.

  • Monitor trends, best practices, and regulatory changes; ensure compliance with applicable Federal and Colorado laws.

  • Collaborate with HR and Executive leadership on compensation decisions and policy development.

  • Lead and mentor compensation and benefits staff.

  • Develop and manage budgets related to compensation and benefits programs.

  • Provide data-driven insights to executive leadership to support strategic workforce planning and organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CCP, CBP, CEBS) preferred.

  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits, including leadership roles in healthcare or similarly regulated industries.

  • Deep knowledge of federal and state regulations impacting compensation and benefits.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and driving change.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

SALARY RANGE

  • ‎$140,000 to $156,000 annual salary.
  • Entry salary dependent upon education, skill-set, and experience.
