In this role, you will partner with hiring leaders across the University to meet their staffing needs from start to finish-including intake, strategy design, proactive sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding. Duties and Responsibilities: Lead full-cycle recruitment for assigned roles, including intake, sourcing, screening, assessments, offers, and onboarding. Work independently to identify gaps, anticipate obstacles, and implement process improvements with minimal oversight. Own data integrity within the applicant tracking system (Workday) and leverage data insights to recommend solutions. Serve as a strategic partner to hiring managers-understanding needs, guiding on best practices, and driving equitable, compliant hiring outcomes. Promote SMU externally via LinkedIn, job boards, career fairs, and professional networks to attract top talent. Adapt to manual or non-automated processes as needed, using creativity and attention to detail to ensure a seamless candidate experience. Prioritize tasks and make decisions quickly in a fast-moving environment while maintaining accuracy and a service mindset. Support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in recruitment strategies and candidate engagement. Perform ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned. Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience Demonstrated ability in recruiting strategy, candidate sourcing, and offer negotiations Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver results with minimal direction Track record of building trusted relationships with hiring teams and advising on best hiring practices Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of adaptability and comfort with resourcefulness to solve problems in real time-even when processes are manual or evolving. Strong degree of self-sufficiency, the ability to navigate ambiguity Experience in sourcing and long-term talent engagement. Experience in using as an Applicant Tracking System. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, and great attention to detail. Strong bias-to-action and motivation to independently address problems and advise stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy. Thorough knowledge of recruiting methods, practices, and relevant laws and regulations. Preferred qualifications: Experience in using Workday as an Applicant Tracking System. Experience in recruiting for a higher education institution. Experience in deploying practices and initiatives advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organization. Employee Status: Regular Exemption Status: United States of America (Exempt) Time Type: Full time Job Shift: Pay Range: Annual salary range: $76,640 ~ $105,000 (exempt) Samuel Merritt University currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location, and other relevant skills.
