ATC Healthcare is looking for Summer School Nurses! The SCHOOL NURSE provides nursing services to the student population in various environments. The school Nurse works cooperatively with the school staff, parents, and guardians to provide for the health care needs of students. The school Nurse works under the supervision of the chief school nurse and/or school principal.

EDUCATION
* LPN/LVN: Graduate of an accredited licensed practical/vocational school of nursing.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE SCHOOL NURSE POSITION:
- LPN/LVN: Graduate of an accredited licensed practical/vocational school of nursing.
- Current and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse in the state of practice.
- One year experience as a nurse in the school setting preferred.
- CPR as required by client facility; health and screening tests as required by specific facilities and/or regulatory agencies.
- Must love kids!
LPN Duties and Responsibilities
Seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) interested in working during an upcoming Summer School session. We have openings in both the Health Office and in classroom support roles in Williamsville, NY 14221
This position requires full commitment to the schedule below.
- Set up days: Wednesday, July 2, 2025 and Thursday, July 3, 2025.
- The program begins on: Monday, July 7, 2025.
- The program ends on Friday, August 15, 2025.
Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience working with students in a school setting or providing one-on-one care for children.
- LPN – Health Office – 1 LPN needed or (2 to job share the total hours)
- Attends to the routine medical needs of all students
- Attentive to individual student medical needs as per IEP
- Administers first aid and emergency treatment for students and employees
- Prepare records and reports as needed
- Manages medical supplies and equipment
- Communicate with staff, administration, and parents regarding medical issues
- Maintains consistent attendance and hours
- 6 hours/day 8:00am – 2:00pm
- LPN - Personal Aide 2-LPN’s needed or (3-4 to job share the total hours)
- Throughout the day, LPN must actively participate in the daily classroom activities, providing primary support to their assigned student, as well as secondary support to other students in the classroom as directed by the classroom teacher. If an assigned student is absent, LPN will be reassigned to support another student in the program.
- Participates in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating student(s) individual health care plan(s)
- Assists with classroom/daily activities as directed by teacher
- Primarily assists with assigned student and assists with classroom students as necessary
- Participates in all summer school related activities/field trips
- Maintains consistent attendance and hours
- 6 hours/day 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
CREDENTIALS
- Background screening as required by state or client contract.
- OIG, SAM, OFAC and NSO screening.
- Current health provider CPR from the American Heart Association at the BLS level or other as per contract.
- Hepatitis B Statement or Declination [OSHA 29 CFR, 1910.1030(f)(2)].
- TB Screening and TB baseline testing at hire. Some clients may require a two-step PPD which consists of two-step testing with one week between tests. A temporary staff employee with a previous positive TB test result must provide current documentation of a negative chest x-ray as required by the client. The Quantiferon Gold test may be used in lieu of a TB Skin test (PPD).
- Drug screening as required by the contract.
